Happy Adoption Day, Samantha!
When I commented on the surprisingly compelling sweetness of this image, my friend and Virtual Abbey prayer partner, Sue Tanida explained:
"We found a rice grain sized baby slug at the base of our Christmas tree last December when we got it...we couldn't put a Pacific Northwest slug outdoors in southern California so we made her a pet. She's full grown and we've grown fond of her--and she's doing quite well considering lifespan is normally 7 months to a year, and we found her December 6th."
As of last week, Samantha was still munching on spinach provided by her loving humans.
