Contemplating September 11, 2001

I thank God that it's raining today, that the sky isn't the expansive gloriously clear blue it was eight years ago, that bird song is silent, and that today's wind sounds like Spirit's deepest sigh.

Every 9/11 for the past 8 years I have prayed all morning. Today, for the first time after prayers, I listened to some phone conversations that victims of 9/11 were having with emergency responders. These are posted on YouTube.
I have watched several tribute videos.
I know these people. These are the faces of the people I see every day. I hear their voices in shopping centers, on telephones and on the streets of America.
May they rest in peace and may their families find comfort knowing that their lives have touched our hearts, and changed the way love our families. May God bless you and keep you safe.

No rain here.
I remember that lovely blue sky. But all three times I almost killed myself with bikes and missiles, the day was just lovely.
I am much safer in bad weather!!!
